Join the Yale Club of Santa Barbara for a potluck picnic and performance at the Music Academy of the West.

 

When: July 18, 2024

 

5:30pm - Potluck Picnic in Anne’s Garden

7:30pm – x2 Concert in Hahn Hall

 

The Music Academy is delighted to have 7 Yalies among their amazing roster of fellows this summer, plus Teaching Artists Martin Beaver and Dennis Michel.

 

We’ll provide tables, chairs, plates, cups, and flatware. Please bring food or beverage to share – or even just your sparkling personality!

YCSB Night at the Museum


Yale Club of Santa Barbara is partnering with the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and the University Club of Santa Barbara for a night out at the Museum with a reception to follow at the University Club of Santa Barbara! We will have a private guided tour of the Museum around 4pm followed by a small presentation at the University Club of Santa Barbara with refreshments and passed food bites at around 6pm.

Whim 'n Rhythm is Yale's vibrant acapella group featuring the thirteen best women in the senior class. Their tour will kick off in Santa Barbara at Brew Lab in Carpinteria.

Join the Yale Club of Santa Barbara for our annual Yale Day of Service!

We will be partnering with Surfrider for the Rincon Parkway Beach Cleanup May 11. Event will tentatively be held at 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. if we have access during construction and high tides.

We are doing a Feb Club Pub crawl at 3 different pubs in the Santa Barbara area: DARGAN'S PUB, LAB SOCIAL AND THIRD WINDOW BREWING. Plus a bonus option at the PICKLE ROOM for any late night party goers! Remember to wear your Yale swag and get ready to party! Sometimes even on the beautiful Central Coast we need to have fun with other Yalies Feb Club style!

Want to get some fresh air and experience wonderful vistas of the Channel Islands, Santa Barbara and Carpinteria, followed by a “Feb Club” lunch at Rincon Brewery and get to know some fellow Yale Alumni? If you do then please join me for a 2-3 hr hike along the Franklin Trail on Saturday, February 17th. The hike will start at 9am. The trail head is at the west side of Carpinteria High school parking lot.

An Evening with Yale College Dean Pericles Lewis

The Yale Club of Santa Barbara invites you to join us for an evening with Yale College Dean Pericles Lewis hosted by Dan and Diane Gainey P '23

6:30 p.m. Reception | 7:15 p.m. Remarks

Pericles Lewis, Douglas Tracy Smith Professor of Comparative Literature and Professor of English at Yale University, serves as dean of Yale College. He earned his B.A. with first-class honors in English literature from McGill University in 1990 and his Ph.D. in comparative literature from Stanford University in 1997, and joined the Yale faculty in 1998. He is the author of three books on the social contexts of modern literature and editor of four books, including the Norton Anthology of World Literature, for which he edits the volume on twentieth and twenty-first century literature. From 2012 to 2017, he served as founding president of Yale-NUS College, and from 2017 to 2022, he was Yale’s vice president for global strategy. As dean of Yale College, he is responsible for guiding the curriculum, intellectual life, residential experience, and student affairs of the undergraduate community.
